RAF Sculthorpe Circa 1960's

Wicken Green Village wouldn’t be the place we love today without the legacy of RAF Sculthorpe. For 50 years, starting at the dawn of WW2, the base provided security for the nation and laid the physical foundations of our community. When the base closed and the MOD handed over the keys in 1996, a new chapter began.

We are proud to celebrate that transition — from a strategic military outpost to a thriving, peaceful civilian village that has matured beautifully over the last three decades. You might notice our anniversary logo carries a distinct military feel. Why? Because heritage matters.

Wicken Green Village is a special, close-knit place, and we want 2026 and beyond to be packed with opportunities to gather, laugh, and enjoy the freedom and friendship of our village life.
